Tomi Ungerer (Συγγραφέας)
O Jean-Thomas ή "Tomi" Ungerer γεννήθηκε στο Στρασβούργο το 1931. Στα νιάτα του υπήρξε επαναστάτης κι έγινε αργότερα, στις Hνωμένες Πολιτείες, φανατικός πολέμιος του πολέμου στο Bιετνάμ. Το πρώτο του παιδικό βιβλίο "The Mellops Go Flying", εκδόθηκε στην Αμερική το 1957. Ταυτόχρονα, άρχισε να εργάζεται ως πολιτικός και ερωτικός εικονογράφος σε έντυπα όπως οι "New York Times" και τα περιοδικά "Esquire", "Life", "Harper΄s Bazaar", "The Village Voice", κ.ά. To 1998 τιμήθηκε με το διεθνές βραβείο Άντερσεν γα το σύνολο του έργου του στην εικονογράφηση παιδικών βιβλίων. Πρεσβευτής καλής θελήσεως της Unicef και στρατευμένος ανθρωπιστής. Έφυγε από τη ζωή στις 9 Φεβρουαρίου 2019.
