The present ‘Monograph’ is addressed as a tool to all those involved in culture either in a direct or indirect way, aims to provide a practical meaningful and thoughtful approach to cultural analysis, utilizing a modern cultural scientific way of thinking, and attempts to redefine the issue of ‘Culture’ and ‘Cultural Policy’ on a sound basis, keeping in mind that Greek culture is the ‘sleeping giant’ of the Greek existence as a nation.
The ultimate goal of cultural policy is to convince the leaders of culture that a need exists today for a change in their attitude in relation to culture’s importance, its development and further advancement. This objective develops the necessary theoretical background on which our ‘Monograph’ is based. Various ‘practical examples’ are also provided to analyze every aspect of cultural policy that highlight what should be done in order to assist decision- making in culture after thorough research.
